Center of Solar Energy System and Smart Microgrid

The Solar System and Intelligent Microgrid Technology Center was established in May 2018, based on the practical teaching of the undergraduate major of "New Energy Science and Engineering" and the scientific and technological research and development of new energy. The center focuses on the development of three core technologies of solar photovoltaic/solar thermal system, high-efficiency solar photovoltaic module, and smart microgrid. The initial construction scale of the center is about 1500m2, and the core equipment of the related laboratory exceeds 10 million yuan. It will serve Shenzhen solar energy and even the national new energy industry, and provide talent and technology output for the rapid transformation of China from a new energy power to a new energy power.

Construction progress of solar system and intelligent microgrid technology center:

Initially establish a training platform for solar photovoltaic systems. Shenzhen University of Technology campus has built a 5.3KW cadmium telluride thin film solar power generation system, the system is characterized by color, transparency, art, fully embodies the perfect combination of thin film solar energy and architecture of scientific and technological charm, there is a related scientific research topic in research. At present, dozens of sets of imported solar photovoltaic and solar thermal system design professional software PVsyst and Polysun have been purchased, and related postgraduate and undergraduate courses have been opened. It has been equipped with a number of solar photovoltaic power generation, wind and solar complementary power generation, dual axis tracking photovoltaic system and other new energy training equipment, as well as HT IV-415, Solar 300N, portable electroluminescence and other outdoor photovoltaic system test equipment.


Initially establish a training platform for solar thermal systems, including a number of new energy practice projects such as solar thermal collectors, solar thermal power generation, solar thermal heating, and infrared thermal imaging cameras on unmanned aerial vehicles.

 

Preliminary establishment of solar module and photovoltaic system testing and performance evaluation platform. Including PASAN high-precision solar module simulator, electroluminescent (EL) module tester, ultraviolet light aging test chamber, high and low temperature test chamber, infrared string welding machine, module laminator, etc. With the ability of module design, development and preparation, we develop high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar modules including tile stacking and low heat spot effect for different solar energy application markets, and conduct research on the weather resistance of modules.

 

We are planning an intelligent microgrid technology platform, focusing on distributed photovoltaic power generation technology, DC optical storage and charging system, wind and solar storage multi-energy system, etc.

 

In 2019, our institute and the new energy department of the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland launched an international new energy summer camp, and jointly carried out a number of new energy practical training teaching projects in Switzerland and our school, which promoted the communication and development of new energy, especially solar energy and energy storage.
